Are retail whisky prices the same as auction values?
No. Retail is what a shop asks today. Auction hammers are cleared secondary-market sales between collectors. For “how much is my bottle worth?”, prefer UK auction hammers; use retail to spot shelf vs market gaps.
How do I compare a shop price with auction hammers?
Find the bottle here, note the retail £ price, then use View auction history (or search on Free Valuation) for the same expression. If hammers clear well below the shop price, the retail listing may be expensive.
